Kids just love ’em...
The strawberry is one of children’s favourite fruits. Most kids fall in love with it at first sight…
Strawberries are very tempting because of their colour, aroma and taste, not to mention how juicy they are. No junior gourmet could possibly resist them. Fresh strawberries have the highest nutritional value, but when the summer season is over the kids are sure to gorge themselves on strawberry preserves. Please remember that, just like all other fruits, strawberries should be rinsed under running water before consumption – preferably before the stalks have been removed. If strawberries are washed without the stalks, they will soak up water and lose their taste.
Strawberries can be served to children who are at least one year old and have not had any allergic symptoms. If a child has experienced an allergic reaction to food, strawberries should be introduced into their diet gradually (initially after passing them first through a sieve).
Not just for dessert…
Children readily eat dishes made with fresh strawberries, such as pasta or rice topped with cream. It is also worth trying a more labour-intensive dish with strawberries, for example, dumplings or pierogi. You can also pour strawberry mousse over pancakes filled with cheese. The little ones will be delighted.
